Heat and Mold Damage
7/30/2018 (Permalink)
The warmer it is, the better the mold likes it. Combined with moisture, higher heat can exponentially increase mold growth. You have likely at one time seen the results of leftover food that got lost in the back of the fridge. It is an example of how quickly mold can grow in refrigerated environments.
The heat makes it grow faster. Fungus begins to grow as soon as spores, moisture, heat and a food source are present. The smelly odor of mildew is the first sign of its presence as mold growth behind your walls is not going to be seen until it reaches an advanced stage. Deodorization attempts without mold mitigation and remediation are of no benefit.
